Bacteriophage

For Biology homework this weekend I had to find a diagram of a bacteriophage (a virus that infects bacteria.) And I came across this photo of a "bacteriophage plush toy":

I just thought it was pretty funny that someone made a soft toy of a virus. Little boys and girls should be very excited to add this fluffy friend to their toy collection.

Yeah, it kind of is...should go nicely with their little phagocytes and E.coli matching pillow set. Sleep tight, children, don't let the VIRUS GET INTO YOUR SYSTEM OR IT WILL STRIKE YOU DOWN AS IT HIJACKS ALL YOUR CELLS, FORCING THEM TO MAKE PROTEINS AND THEN FLOODING YOUR BODY WITH AN ARMY UNTIL YOU SUCCUMB TO ILLNESS AND DIE.

bacteriophages lack the necessary protein markers for humans which enable viruses to enter cells. they target bacteria hence are called bacteriophages...btw several strains of e. coli live in your gut, they make living easier...be more grateful next time
